Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Physician Advisor to lead utilization management initiatives across inpatient and outpatient care. You will collaborate with medical staff, payers, and hospital leadership to ensure appropriate decisions, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of clinical practice, MD or DO, and 2+ years in a Physician Advisor role or 3+ years leadership, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with current license to practice medicine.
• 5+ years of recent clinical practice.
• 2+ years as a Physician Advisor (Preferred).
• 3+ years of leadership experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review and authorize inpatient days and utilization patterns.
• Collaborate with Utilization Management for process improvement and care continuity.
• Serve as clinical liaison with attending physicians and medical staff.
• Collaborate with managed care payers on denials, appeals, and criteria.
• Analyze data to identify utilization improvements and benchmarking.
• Educate physicians and clinical teams on UM protocols and regulatory changes.
• Review payer denials and support denial-prevention strategies.
• Participate in Utilization Management and hospital committees.
• Support goals for length of stay, quality, and resource stewardship.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
