Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Goodyear, Arizona invites an experienced physician to join as a Physician Advisor on-site. This full-time leadership role will influence utilization management, documentation integrity, and physician education to improve patient care and hospital performance.

You will chair the Utilization Management Committee quarterly, educate physicians and committees on best practices, lead case reviews, and collaborate with CDI/HIM teams to reduce denials and enhance documentation

Qualifications

• MD or DO with current Florida license or eligibility.
• Board certified in ABMS-recognized specialty.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital-based leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Data-driven mindset with measurable impact on outcomes.
• On-site, full-time role in a large hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Review cases for appropriate Level of Care and monitor observation stays
• Educate physicians and committees on utilization and documentation best practices
• Lead daily huddles, complex case conferences, and peer education
• Chair the Utilization Management Committee quarterly
• Manage payer denials, including peer-to-peer reviews
• Partner with CDI/HIM teams to improve documentation quality
• Partner with administration in reducing financial risks associated with denials as a result of unnecessary or preventable services and extended lengths of stay
