Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Physician Advisor-Lead to join the Utilization Management team. This full-time role will lead and build the enterprise Physician Advisor program, setting clinical review standards across UF Health facilities and leading education initiatives.

The position reports to UM leadership, drives governance representation, manages vendor relationships, and champions clinical documentation integrity and case management processes across the system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active license in Florida.
• 5+ years in utilization review/management or hospital medicine.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine.
• ABQAURP or ACPA-C certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilization Management is seeking a Physician Advisor-Lead to join their team! This full-time position will be instrumental in leading and building our enterprise Physician Advisor program. The PA Lead sets the clinical review standard for Physician Advisors across all UF Health facilities, represents the Physician Advisor function in UM Committee governance, and owns the system-wide physician education curriculum. This role carries program-level accountability outcomes, escalation resolution, and coordination with any Physician Advisor vendor partners.

Qualifications

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Experience:

• 5+ years of utilization review / utilization management or hospital medicine experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
• Board certification in Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine
• Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) or the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA-C) preferred.

Other Qualifications:

• Prior UM Committee leadership or Physician Advisor program leadership experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop a clinical team and manage vendor relationships
• Possess or acquires a solid foundation, knowledge, and/or experience in the areas of utilization management, and clinical documentation integrity.
• Possess a working knowledge of organization & case management operations and administrative standards and policies.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of EMRs (EPIC preferred).
• Ability to build rapport with medical staff and hospital leadership to obtain the buy-in and collaboration necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
