Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. seeks an MD/DO physician advisor to ensure compliant admission status and reviews across multiple specialties. You will respond to inquiries quickly, collaborate with hospital teams, and adjust to a late afternoon/evening schedule including weekends.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A competitive bonus plan and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted U.S. MD or DO medical licensure.
• At least 3 years of experience post-residency in inpatient treatment.
• Strong clinical knowledge base across multiple clinical areas.
• Professional, organized with persuasive writing and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Address compliance and admission status issues.
• Review and respond to customer inquiries within 1–2 hours.
• Work during pre-scheduled hours; schedules created ~30 days in advance.
• Physicians should perform independently with high performance in a fast-paced environment.
• Meet quality and productivity standards.
• Engage with attending physicians to discuss status with documentation.
• Make phone contact with utilization review team and case managers.
• Provide written analysis and conduct case reviews across multiple specialties.
