Job summary

Med Source Consultants seeks a Physician to provide urgent care services across multiple St. Louis metro locations. You will manage 36-48 encounters per shift, seeing both adult and pediatric patients and performing minor procedures as needed.

Residency-trained and board-certified (or board-eligible within 5 years) in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds is required. Proficiency with EMR systems, especially Epic, is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must be residency trained and board certified (or board eligible within 5 years) in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds via ABMS or AOA.
• Must see both adult and pediatric patients (ages 6 months+)
• Current BLS certification required — through American Heart Association
• Must be comfortable performing minor procedures (suturing, wound care, I&D, splinting, casting)
• Must read EKGs and X-rays; onsite X-ray/EKG available
• Very comfortable with EMR systems; Epic experience is a plus
• Must work with support staff (medical assistants, scribes, radiology technicians) without RN/LPN support
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts; blocks including weekdays and weekends preferred
• Centers open Mon-Fri 8:00-20:00, Sat-Sun 9:00-17:00; shifting to 12-hour weekend shifts

Job Details

• Provide urgent care services across multiple locations throughout the St. Louis metro area
• 36-48 patient encounters per shift
• Must be residency trained and board certified (or board eligible if within 5 years of residency) in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds through ABMS or American Osteopathic Board — no other boards accepted
• Must be trained and comfortable seeing both adult and pediatric patients (ages 6 months and older)
• Must provide proof of 50 patient encounters in the last 12 months correlating to privileges requested
• Current BLS certification required — must be obtained directly through the American Heart Association
• Must be comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, splinting, and casting
• Must be comfortable reading EKGs and X-rays; onsite X-ray and EKG available
• Must be very comfortable working with EMR systems; Epic experience is a plus
• Must be willing to work with medical assistants, scribes, and radiology technicians as support staff (no RN/LPN support staff)
• Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts; preference given to providers who can work blocks of shifts including both weekdays and weekends
• Centers are open Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM and Saturday–Sunday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; transitioning to 12-hour shifts on weekends
• No overtime available
• Must hold an active Missouri license or IMLC
• Interview with the medical director is required prior to confirmation
• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 120 days
