Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $12,500 - $14,583 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $11,730 - $19,922 per month

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
  • Initial appointment will be on a 12-month pay plan (salary range: $15,000 – $17,500 per month) from the date of hire through the end of the July 2026 pay period. At the beginning of the August pay period, the appointment will change to an 10/12 pay plan whereby the incumbent will work 10 months per year and are paid 12 months (10/12) with each subsequent June and July off.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees are also able to participate in the fee waiver education program. A summary of benefit information can be found here.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Medical Chief of Staff, the physician provides general medical care to students as assigned.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to serve as a mentor and resource consultant for other health center personnel
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of medical practitioners and specialists, as well as students, administrators, staff, and faculty.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic health records and the ability to adapt use to various e-programs as required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Recognition (CPR)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are used daily with all teams members.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice medicine, perform minor surgery, perform pelvic examinations and other procedures relevant to this student population
Education and Experience
  • Graduation from a medical school recognized by the Medical Board of California.
  • Completion of one or more residency programs in a primary care field such as family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology, general pediatrics, emergency medicine, preventive medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent.
