Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks a physician to join the Missionary Treatment Clinic. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in clinic and ambulatory settings for missionaries, and respond to questions by phone.

The role includes weekend rounds and coordinating care with specialists and ecclesiastical leaders. Required: MD/DO, completed residency, Utah license or ability to obtain, DEA, BLS, board certification, and 3–5 years of ambulatory or primary care experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program.
• Current unrestricted physician license in Utah, or ability to obtain one.
• DEA registration.
• Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain it.
• Board certified.
• Three to five years of clinical ambulatory/primary care experience.

What you’ll do in this position

• Expand medical knowledge by reading educational materials and current medical publications.
• Keep abreast of new developments in medicine.

• Support activities of the department and other University departments.
• Relate well with other University employees.
• Adhere to University standards and policies.
• Participate in missionary committees as assigned.
• Assist the Missionary Department with evaluating missionaries.

What qualifies you for this role

Required

• A thorough, attentive, humble, and safety‑oriented approach to patient care.

Pay Grade: 57P

Typical Starting Pay: $165,500 - $215,000

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job‑related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work‑related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
