Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Student Health Center. You will assess patients, develop and evaluate treatment plans, and empower students to thrive physically and emotionally. The position may require 17.5, 28, or 40 hours per week depending on the hire agreement.

You will perform medical evaluations, document findings, and stay current with medical advances while contributing to BYU's mission and values in a faith-based university setting.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Utah.
• Master’s degree in Nursing/APRN or equivalent.
• CPR and OSHA certification.
• Board certification or eligibility as NP.
• DEA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment in clinic and ambulatory settings, including telephone follow-ups.
• Document all findings, consultations, treatments and diagnoses; review documentation for accuracy.
• Stay current with medical knowledge and practices.
• Advanced Functions: Perform IUD insertion and removal.
• Perform Nexplanon insertion and removal.
• Perform surgical procedures including Pilonidal cyst removal, Lipoma excision, and Epidermoid cyst excision.

What you’ll do in this position:

• Provide medical evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment in both a clinic and ambulatory setting; provide answers to questions over telephone.

What qualifies you for this role:

• Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.


• Current Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Utah and Master’s Degree in Nursing/APRN/Board Certified or eligible Advanced assessment and treatment skills used in the care of all types of patients (variable in adult, family and pediatric) CPR certified OSHA certified Fulfill requirements as listed under job scope and major accountabilities Stay current with medical knowledge and practices.

• The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job‑related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors.


• Candidates with very significant work‑related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
