Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a skilled physician to examine patients, obtain medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and render appropriate medical or surgical treatment. You will exercise independent clinical judgment in diverse patient encounters and maintain privileges at the affiliated hospitals as required.

You will educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection, communicating clearly and providing information to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan license to practice medicine.
• Maintain medical staff privileges at subsidiary hospitals.
• Board certification in area of specialty, where required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses need for referral to additional providers for specialty care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection through interpersonal communication and/or the provision of informational materials to patients and family members.
• Assesses need for, and as may be clinically indicated, refers patients to additional health care providers for additional specialty care.
• Assesses urgency of patient medical care needs in determining necessary follow-up schedule and/or referral/consultation appointments.
• Exercises sound medical judgment in all issues pertinent to medical diagnosis and treatment on each patient’s behalf.
