Position Summary/Scope of Responsibility

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics LLC (CAO) is one of the nation’s largest Orthopaedics practices, owned and operated by physicians, with over 60 locations across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Rehab Aide supports Physical and Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants in patient treatment, under supervision and in accordance with CAO policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities may also include assisting with front desk duties as needed.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist therapists in treating non-Medicare patients, including setting up modalities, exercise machines, and monitoring exercise form.
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness by disinfecting surfaces and equipment.
  • Follow work schedules to maximize patient care and volume, including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays as required.
  • Perform laundry duties and ensure availability of towels, gowns, etc.
  • Handle front desk tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, registration, and insurance verification.
  • Attend staff meetings or obtain meeting notes if unable to attend.
  • Support clinic operations, including staffing at different CAO locations as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, events, webinars, and in-services.
  • Work evenings and Saturdays based on clinic needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pre-Physical Therapy or related field preferred, with undergraduate majors such as Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and computer proficiency.
  • CPR certification for Healthcare Professionals.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based office technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Participation in CAO's Rehab Aide training and passing the proficiency exam required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of body mechanics for transfers and assisting patients.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, and manual tasks.
  • Exposure to clinical environment conditions.
