General Job Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties in a professional manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Greets, screens, schedules, and directs patients/visitors to appropriate areas and demonstrates excellence in treating and caring for customers in person and over the phone.
- Performs clerical duties: answers phones, takes messages, faxes, scans, etc.
- Verifies that all forms, test results, and paperwork are in the electronic health records according to office protocol.
- Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information; provides support to patients and staff.
- Maintains the practice management system.
- Calls patients daily from the scheduling pool to arrange therapy visits.
- Collects payments for services, including copayments and balances.
- Balances cash drawer daily.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of customer service experience in a medical practice preferred.
Other Requirements
Flexible scheduling, including overtime and travel between locations as needed.
Knowledge
- Understanding of OrthoCincy Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Proficiency with office equipment and practice management/EHR systems.
- Computer literacy, including internet/email.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, safety regulations, basic medical terminology, and anatomy.
