Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a dedicated Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will support the Physical Therapist in providing safe, effective therapy services for residents, ensuring safety and comfort within a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.

Ideal candidates hold an active Florida PTA license, with at least 2 years of SNF experience, and a strong commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered PTA license in Florida.
• Minimum of 2 years in nursing home or skilled nursing facility setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing safe, effective therapy services.
• Provide treatment and support per care plans and standards.
• Prioritize resident safety, dignity, and well-being during therapy activities.
• Follow facility policies, infection control and universal precautions.
• Use safety equipment when moving residents.
• Maintain a clean, organized therapy environment.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are available and maintained.
• Report hazards, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Wear PPE for potential exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
• Report missing or illegible safety labels and SDS to supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing safe, effective, and compliant therapy services.

• Provide treatment and support in accordance with established care plans and professional standards.

• Prioritize resident safety, comfort, dignity, and well-being during all therapy activities.

• Follow facility policies, procedures, safety standards, infection control protocols, and universal precautions.

• Use appropriate safety equipment when lifting, transferring, or moving residents.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.

• Ensure necessary therapy equipment and supplies are available and properly maintained.

• Promptly report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when providing services involving potential exposure to blood or bodily fluids.

• Report missing, damaged, or illegible safety labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the State of Florida.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility setting.

• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
