Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas, formerly Sumner Regional Medical Center, is a 167‑bed Level III Trauma Center serving Gallatin and surrounding areas. A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) joiner will deliver therapy services under supervising PT to help patients develop, recover, and maintain mobility.

• Associate's degree required; graduate of a program in discipline required.
• License: Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support program.

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
