Job summary

Highpoint Health- Sumner is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med-Surg unit. This full-time/day shift role supports nursing staff by aiding with daily living activities, observation and reporting patient changes, and assisting with direct patient care.

The successful candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS within 30 days, and CNA license preferred in Tennessee. Prior CNA/EMT experience is a plus; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• State TN CNA license preferred, can be considered without high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year certified nurse tech or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with performing activities of daily living
• Providing or assisting with providing direct patient care
• Observing and recording patient behavior and activities
• Reporting any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to treatment plans
• Assisting with POC testing and EKGs as needed

Since opening in 1959, we have grown from one facility with just 50 employees and 7 physicians to a comprehensive health care leader in the community with more than 1,000 employees and 300 physicians. Today, we operate as a 167-bed healthcare facility and provide quality care in numerous areas of health care.
