Job summary

Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role focuses on helping patients develop, recover, and maintain mobility and function, with discharge planning support.

Responsibilities include implementing the treatment plan, documenting progress, educating patients and families, and monitoring responses.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
• Licenses: Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of KY.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities; seek consultation as necessary.
• Monitor patient’s responses to the treatment plan and communicate progress and goal revisions regularly to the physical therapist.
• Document services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assist with patient discharge planning and provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support program.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – PRN

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients who need to develop, recover, and maintain physical mobility/function.
