Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility at the Onondaga Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Minoa, New York. This position supports residents under the supervision of licensed PTs and includes flexible scheduling and opportunities for mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Per diem availability and willingness to train new grads or staff.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising PT.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.
