Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Onondaga Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Minoa, NY. The role offers mentorship and ongoing clinical support, flexible schedules, and opportunities for new grads to start their careers.

As a PTA, you will participate in rehab activities, collaborate with therapists, and help residents improve daily function using specialized equipment in a state‑of‑the‑art

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.
