Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, NY. You will support the plan of care under the supervising physical therapist and provide hands-on rehab services to residents.

The role includes evaluating and recording motor function, applying treatments such as stretching and massage, and collaborating with the rehab team while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Assist residents in carrying out exercises with techniques like stretching and massage.
• Maintains resident confidentiality and complies with legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care team members and contributes to team effort.

Education

Duties of an exceptional Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) include:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
