Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for outpatient services in rural North Carolina. You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and support patient independence across acute, inpatient, and outpatient care.

The role requires an Associate's degree from a PTA program, a valid PTA license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program is required.
• Current or eligible PTA license in the state of practice is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on PTA care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist across acute, inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Monitor and document patient progress and education of patients and caregivers.
• Assist with discharge planning and coordinate with rehabilitation teams to ensure safe outcomes.

How you’ll contribute

As a Physical Therapy Assistant in a rural hospital, providing compassionate, hands‑on care across acute care, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, restore function, and help patients achieve their highest level of independence. You will monitor and document patient progress, educate patients and caregivers, assist with discharge planning, and collaborate closely with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary care teams to support safe, positive patient outcomes.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program required
• Current or eligible to obtain a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
