Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team in New York. The PTA will implement the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and help residents improve mobility, strength, and function.

Qualified candidates are graduates of an accredited PTA program and must hold a New York PTA license. Prior experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is preferred, but new graduates with fieldwork are

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques such as stretching and massage; assist with prescribed exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship within the healthcare team.
