Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing team. The PTA will implement the plan of care under a supervising therapist and support residents with therapeutic exercises and modalities.

Candidates should have graduated from an accredited PTA program and hold a NY PTA license; experience in geriatric care is preferred, though new grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident's motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, and assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
