Sigma Health Rehab in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing team. The PTA will follow the plan of care set by the supervising PT and support resident rehabilitation goals.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited PTA program with NY license; experience in geriatric care is preferred though new grads are welcome. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing professional development.

• Support a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
