Job summary

Studebaker Healthcare Center in Norwalk, CA is seeking a Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the in-house team and support residents in a 98-bed SNF setting.

The PTA provides direct physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, documents treatments, and helps residents improve independence and functioning according to physician orders.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited 2-year college program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current, active Physical Therapy Assistant license.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy interventions as planned and supervised by a Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Record treatments in medical records and note progress.
• Develop and update treatment plans to increase resident independence.
• Communicate changes in residents’ condition.
• Provide accurate billing records and supporting clinical documentation.
• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other care staff.
• Educate residents, caregivers and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with mandatory education and competence programs.
• Perform screening rounds as directed to assess needs and safety.
• Provide recommendations for business improvement, safety concerns or updates.

Seeking a Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the in-house team at Studebaker Healthcare Center, a beautiful 98 bed SNF in Norwalk, CA!

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. The person in this role will also record treatments given and note progress in medical records. In this role, you are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.

• Provide physical therapy individualized treatment plans and needed updates to increase client’s independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician’s orders

• Communicate changes in resident’s condition

• Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation

• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staff

• Provide education and training to patient, caregiver, and community partners

• Ensure compliance with all community mandatory education, training and competence programs

• Perform screening rounds as directed by Director of Rehabilitation to assess for client needs and environmental safety

• Provide recommendations to Director of Rehab and other team members opportunities for business improvement, safety concerns or other update

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited 2-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association

License: Current, unencumbered, active Physical Therapy Assistant License (required)
