Job summary

Mission Park Healthcare Center in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehab team. PRN also needed.

As a PTA, you will provide direct physical therapy interventions under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, document progress, and support residents' independence. This role is in a SNF setting with ongoing patient education and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 2-year PTA program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant required.
• Preference for rehab/SNF experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy interventions under supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Record treatments and note progress in medical records.
• Bill accurately and maintain clinical documentation.
• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staff.
• Educate patient, caregiver, and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with all mandatory education, training and competence programs.
• Perform screening rounds to assess client needs and safety.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to rehab operations and safety.

Job description

Seeking a Full Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the in-house rehab team at Mission Park Healthcare, a beautiful SNF in Santa Barbara, CA! PRN also needed.

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. The person in this role will also record treatments given and note progress in medical records. In this role, you are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.

• Provide physical therapy individualized treatment plans and needed updates to increase client’s independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician’s orders

• Communicate changes in resident’s condition

• Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation

• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staff

• Provide education and training to patient, caregiver, and community partners

• Ensure compliance with all community mandatory education, training and competence programs

• Perform screening rounds as directed by Director of Rehabilitation to assess for client needs and environmental safety

• Provide recommendations to Director of Rehab and other team members opportunities for business improvement, safety concerns or other update
