Job summary

Oklahoma City Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role involves treating a diverse patient population aged from 18 to geriatric, assisting in patient care, and implementing physician- and therapist-directed rehab plans.

Responsibilities

• Treat referred patients ranging from 18 years to geriatric with rehabilitation diagnoses or conditions.
• Assist in patient care to assess medical condition, functional capabilities and limitations and potential for rehabilitation.
• Administer a treatment program with specific goals determined by patient capacity and tolerance under direction of Physician and Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods.

Job description

The Physical Therapy Assistant treats referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric who are experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis or conditions requiring rehabilitation. Assists in patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities and limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients’ capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician and Physical Therapist. Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods.

Pay: Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Physical Therapist Assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable

Desired Experience:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience
