Job Summary

Emerald Care Center Southwest is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. The PTA will work closely with our physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents. Work Environment

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress. Provide hands‑on therapy, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed.
• Assessment & Documentation: Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy. Report any changes in patients' conditions to the physical therapist.
• Education & Support: Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for enhancing functional independence. Offer guidance on home exercise programs and preventive care.
• Equipment Management: Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with the use of therapeutic devices and aids.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care. Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program. Licensure: Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Oklahoma
• Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.
