Sigma Health Rehab in Corning, NY is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement and document care plans and support residents in achieving rehab goals.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited PTA program, hold or pursue NY PTA licensure, and have a compassionate approach to geriatric care; we offer competitive pay, great benefits, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Currently licensed or pursuing NY PTA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with stretching and massage, and assist with specific exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

Sigma Health Rehab is excited to offer a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position to join our team of skilled therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program

• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist

• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.

• Observe and document on resident performance.

• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.

• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
