Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Corning, NY, is recruiting for a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) / Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support the Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

The role works with PTs and OTs to carry out the plan of care, assists residents with daily activities, uses equipment, and contributes to a collaborative rehab team. New grads welcome; NY PTA license is required; per diem schedule with potential evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort.

Education
