Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Corning, NY, is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility. You will work under the supervising PT to implement established care plans and support patient rehab goals.

Applicants should have an accredited PTA program graduate status and NY PTA licensure; SNF or geriatric care experience is preferred, but new grads with fieldwork are welcome. Competitive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with all legal requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program

• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist

• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.

• Observe and document on resident performance.

• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.

• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.

• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
