Job summary

Easterseals Joliet Region is seeking an experienced Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a school-based position serving students to develop mobility, strength, balance, and participation in classroom activities.

Under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will support individualized treatment plans, document progress, collaborate with teachers and families, and promote student independence through engaging therapy.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois PTA license.
• Previous pediatric and/or school-based experience is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.]
• Passion for helping children reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy interventions to students based on individualized treatment plans.
• Support students in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and participation in school activities.
• Document student progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and other members of the educational team.
• Assist with positioning, adaptive equipment, and mobility recommendations.
• Encourage student independence while making therapy engaging and fun.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with professional and agency standards.
