Job summary

Blue Bird Day in Chicago, IL seeks a Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our clinic-based team serving children ages 2-7 with autism and other neurodiverse needs.

You will deliver evidence-based, play-focused pediatric therapy, collaborate with OTs, SLPs, and social workers, and document progress for families. This full-time position emphasizes mobility and functional independence in a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license from IDFPR.
• Experience providing pediatric therapy to 2-7 year olds is valued.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and document progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy to children aged 2-7 with ASD, ADHD, and sensory needs.
• Implement DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and IRM approaches.

Description

Blue Bird Day, a leading specialized intensive pediatric therapeutic day program, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinic-based Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our multidisciplinary team of top therapists in Chicago, IL . This is an opportunity to provide evidence-based, play-focused pediatric therapy in a collaborative, innovative environment designed to help children thrive.

As a Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Blue Bird Day, you will provide physical therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. You'll foster each child's mobility, gross motor development, and functional independence growth through:

• Providing individualized and group therapy
• Implementing therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM)
• Collaborating daily with occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers
• Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care

Requirements:

• Active PTA license from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
