Job summary

Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work under a licensed Physical Therapist in an acute rehabilitation setting. You will deliver therapy, implement individualized plans, monitor progress and ensure safe care delivery, supporting mobility and independence for adult and geriatric patients.

The role includes patient and caregiver education, discharge planning, and accurate documentation in line with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current PTA state licensure.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Type: Fulltime, Nonexempt

Schedule: Scheduling option to choose M‑F 8:00am – 5:00pm or M‑TH 7:30am – 5:30pm, Rotating Saturday/Holiday coverage

How You’ll Contribute

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapy services in an acute rehabilitation setting. This role implements individualized treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, restore function, and maintain physical independence following illness or injury. The PTA monitors patient progress, communicates updates and potential changes to the supervising therapist, and ensures safe, effective care delivery. Responsibilities include patient and caregiver education, assisting with discharge planning, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The patient population primarily includes adult and geriatric individuals requiring comprehensive rehabilitation services.

What We’re Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification
• Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient setting experience preferred
