Job Description

A Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, assisting in providing physical therapy services within their scope of training as delegated by the Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Applying physical therapy modalities
• Providing therapeutic exercises and functional training with ADLs
• Gait and balance training using specific equipment
• Documenting progress
• Conferencing with the Physical Therapist on program modifications
• Assisting with evaluative techniques
• Participating in care planning
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• AAS in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program and NY State Registration
• CPR certification
• Physical strength to lift 50-100 lbs
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare disciplines
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, diagnosis, precautions, and protocols
