Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital in Shreveport, LA seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to evaluate referred patients aged 18 and older and to implement rehabilitation plans under physician and PT supervision.

Responsibilities include administering treatment programs, educating patients and families, and assisting in patient care while applying essential communication and organizational skills. A competitive benefits package accompanies this role.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross is required; online certification not acceptable.
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet strict time frames.

The Physical Therapy Assistant treats referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric who are experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis or conditions requiring rehabilitation. Assists in patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities and limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Physical Therapist Assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable
