Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient care across adult to geriatric populations in our inpatient rehabilitation program. You will assist in evaluating and implementing treatment plans under the direction of the Physician and Physical Therapist, while educating patients and families on home programs.

The ideal candidate holds state licensure, BLS certification, and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and analytical

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in the state.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross (online not acceptable).
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat referred patients aged 18 and older in rehab.
• Assist in administering treatment programs under physician/PT supervision.
• Educate patients and families on physical therapy methods and home programs.

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant treats referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric who are experiencing rehabilitation diagnosis or conditions requiring rehabilitation. Assists in patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities and limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.

Administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients’ capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician and Physical Therapist. Educate patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure asanPhysical Therapist Assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American RedCross. Online certification is not acceptable

Desired Qualifications:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience
