Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to independently evaluate and treat acute or prolonged physical dysfunction, focusing on maximizing patient independence. You will assess strength, balance, gait, and functional abilities, delivering or delegating therapies accordingly.

Minimum qualifications include state licensure and BLS certification; inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred.

Job description

Position Summary:

Independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence. Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living.

Pay:

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Physical Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualifications:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience
