Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. You will deliver physician-ordered PT, collaborate with the home care team, and help patients regain function in a community-focused program.

We require graduation from an approved PTA program with at least one year post-graduation experience, Florida licensure, a current BLS/CPR certification, and a clean driving record; a personal vehicle is used for duties with mileage

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program with at least one year post program graduation.
• Florida licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant and valid Florida Class “E” driver’s license; BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must provide a seven year driving record with no more than six points and be at least 21 years old; personal vehicle use is required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and competent physical therapy as ordered by a physician.
• Implements specific physician orders according to the principles and practices of physical therapy as directed by a physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary home care treatment team.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program with at least one (1) year experience post program graduation.

Required Experience:

Preferred: Two (2) years treating patients in an acute care, rehabilitative or home care setting.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Current Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Florida. Must possess a State of Florida Class “E” Driver’s License. Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited instructor from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Behavioral Criteria: Qualified candidates must provide a seven (7) year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles with no more than six (6) points and no indication of poor driving habits. The qualified candidate must be 21 years of age.
• Note: Use of personal vehicles is required. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to maintain adequate insurance coverage for their personal vehicle used in conjunction with their duties as an employee. TMH will reimburse the business use of a personal vehicle in accordance with procedures defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
