Job summary

Bridge Home Health & Hospice in California is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to provide therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and according to the physician’s plan of care. Candidates must be a graduate PTA with California Board approval, possess CPR, and hold a valid CA driver’s license with insurance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate degree approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Approved as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with a vehicle in good working order and insurance.
• Must have a valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and per physician’s plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and assist patients in therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, transfers and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents (heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, massage).
• Observe and report patient responses and changes to the PT and organization staff.
• Instruct patients in care and use of mobility devices and orthotics.
• Maintain clinical notes and records within prescribed time frames.
• Participate in Home Care Team meetings and Inservice Education Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to attendance and reliability guidelines to ensure quality patient care.

Education

Graduate PTA program with associate degree approved by APTA
