Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Therapy team in Frederick. The role provides PT services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, with emphasis on patient education, treatment planning, and collaborative care within a large health system.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of an accredited PTA program, hold an associate degree, and possess state licensure as required for the location. BLS and CPR certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure as deemed necessary for location.
• American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for patient care activities under supervision of licensed physical therapist.
• Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations.
• Involves patient and family in treatment and discharge planning through education and training.
• Provides patient treatment services including review of historical information and safely administering modalities under supervision.
