Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Therapy - Frederick team. The PTA will provide physical therapy services, treatment, training, and equipment recommendations under supervision, in a large health system.

The role requires accreditation, an associate degree, and state licensure as applicable, plus BLS CPR certification. You will work within a team to deliver patient-centered care and participate in discharge planning and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant school.
• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Maryland, DC and/or Virginia licensure as deemed necessary for your location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for patient care activities under supervision of licensed PT.
• Communicates with the physical therapist to coordinate care.
• Manages time and productivity to meet department expectations.
• Maintains an accurate schedule and documents patient progress.
• Provides patient treatment services within the treatment plan under supervision of a PT.
• Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support patient care and discharge planning.
• Engages patients and families in education and planning of care.
• Pursues continuing education for professional growth and competency.
