Job summary

Qualifications

• State of Michigan PTA licensure.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in acute care rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed physical therapy treatment under supervision of a PT.
• Educate patients and families to promote functional restoration.
• Document all care and patient responses in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in planning and evaluating care.
• Maintain professional standards by participating in inservices and department requirements.
• Delegate and supervise care to PCT and PTA students.
• Serve as a resource on body mechanics, positioning, mobility, and transfer techniques.
