Job summary

OakBend Medical Center in Texas is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to implement prescribed therapy plans under supervision of the Director of Rehab Services and a Physical Therapist. The PTA will be a resource for PTs, assistants and aides, ensuring coordinated patient care across ages.

Graduate of an approved PTA program is required; BLS certification is also necessary, with prior PT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Previous experience in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Eligible for or licensed by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification required through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in Physical Therapy preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Eligible for or licensed by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Basic Life Support certification required through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of regulations, QA and procedures, and quality patient care. Successful completion department specific and/or hospital required training courses. Must be able to treat patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric.
