Job summary

A local independent hospital in Houston is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide therapy services under supervision and serve as a resource for colleagues. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited program, hold the appropriate Texas licensure, and possess BLS certification. A compassionate approach to patient care and experience in physical therapy are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Physical Therapy preferred.
• Eligible for or licensed by the Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Under the supervision of the Director of Rehab Services and Physical Therapist, to provide various methods of Physical Therapy according to patient treatment plan. To serve as a resource person for PT's, PT Assistants, and PT Aides.

• Provide physical therapy services according to patient treatment plans under supervision.
• Serve as a resource for PTs, PT Assistants, and PT Aides.

Minimum Education

Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Minimum Work Experience

Previous experience in Physical Therapy preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Eligible for or licensed by the Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification required through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Knowledge of regulations, QA and procedures, and quality patient care. Successful completion of department-specific and/or hospital-required training courses. Must be able to treat patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric.
