Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and to effectively communicate with patients, Physical Therapists and other departments.
• Report patient issues, departmental concerns, or interdepartmental problems to the supervising therapist.
• Read and understand the policy and procedure manual.
• Demonstrate compliance with safety, hazardous waste, and infection control procedures.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics with patients in order to prevent injury to patient or self.
• Work assigned shifts, approved overtime, and weekends as requested.
• Adheres to all departmental policies and procedures, including annual updates of emergency procedures

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physical Therapist in treating patients with modalities as prescribed.
• Set up treatment areas and assist with patient treatment and equipment cleaning.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and report unsafe equipment.
• Answering phone calls and greeting patients as needed; assist with basic receptionist tasks.
