Job summary

The University of Southern California's Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy seeks a Clinic Assistant to support the USC Physical Therapy clinic at University Park Campus. The role helps improve clinic efficiency by scheduling patient appointments, preparing exam rooms, and assisting clinicians during exams to ensure smooth patient flow.

This 12-month fixed-term, hourly position pays $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.
• Minimum Field of Expertise: Medical office management and medical secretarial experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments, answer general questions, obtain authorizations and pre-authorizations for patient care services.
• Schedule appointments with ancillary departments or other care providers as needed.
• Maintains master calendar for providers.
• Ensure patient charts are prepared prior to appointments.
• Sets up exam rooms, assists clinicians with exams as needed, monitors patient flow.
• Assists providers, as requested, by preparing the physical environment, performs non-patient related tasks, and patient-related tasks as assigned or requested by the provider.
• Assists as medical chaperones with room and equipment setup and are visually present to assist the provider and/or patient during sensitive health exam/treatment.
• Maintains files and records, oversees equipment and office supply inventory.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
