Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding seeks a PT Assistant to implement physical therapy treatment programs and provide feedback toward patient recovery. You will guide patients through exercises under the supervising therapist, delivering compassionate care that supports rehabilitation goals.

You will transport patients, assist with bed positioning and gait training, prepare for treatment, and maintain clean equipment, contributing to safe and effective therapy sessions in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year multidisciplinary rehabilitation aide experience required, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association required, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports in-patients to and from the Physical Therapy Department, including transfers to a wheelchair.
• Assists clinical staff in patient care activities, including bed positioning, transfers, and gait training.
• Administers uncomplicated therapy modalities under supervision of a therapist.
• Prepares patients for treatment, assisting with dressing, braces, prosthesis, and equipment preparation.
• Fills and cleans whirlpools as necessary, cleans and disinfects treatment tables and equipment.
