Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Waverly in the Baltimore area. You will evaluate and plan patient care, implement treatment protocols, and participate in discharge planning while documenting thoroughly.

Responsibilities include collaboration with the care team, ongoing professional development, and mentoring students. Maryland/DC/VA licensure may be required depending on location, with BLS certification expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results.
• Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporates patient and family in the goals setting.
• Demonstrates proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings and patient presentation; consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated.
• Completes discharge planning and follow-up care with accurate documentation and charges for patient care activities.
• Takes initiative in pursuing continuing education and serves as a clinical instructor to assign students and mentor staff.
