Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with two evening shifts until 6pm, 5 days/week for 8-hour days or 4 days/week for 10-hour days.

The PT will deliver patient-centered care, develop treatment plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to optimize recovery and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Physical Therapy required.
• Licensure: VA licensure or compact privileges.
• Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association at start.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment and discharge needs.
• Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members to facilitate effective treatment plans.
• Gives instruction and supervision to assistants per policies.
• Applies therapeutic techniques and adjusts plans as patient status changes.
• Owns PT patient management from initial contact to discharge.
• Develops goals and treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Forms comprehensive treatment plans to improve functional status.

Physical Therapist (PT) Job Responsibilities:

• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance, and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan in addition to eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of special needs of the patients or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans. Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to the patient's level of understanding and motivation and includes families/caregivers in education and training. Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and is open to feedback and receptive to change.
• Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel consistent with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
• Applies knowledge of therapeutic techniques during evaluations and throughout treatment while adjusting treatment plans regularly and appropriately as patients' status change. Demonstrates current knowledge of the application of therapeutic techniques and evaluation methods.
• Assumes complete responsibility over the course of Physical Therapy patient management from the time of initial contact to discharge for functional progress, safety and treatment outcomes.
• Develops goals and treatment plans that are prioritized based on input from patients, families, and healthcare team members and reflect the evaluation findings.
• Formulates comprehensive treatment plans to improve the functional status of patients and address reasons for referrals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure: Physical Therapist upon start (VA licensure or compact privileges)
• Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association upon start

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of Physical Therapist (PT) experience
• Neuro rehab experience
