HSHS St. Mary's Hospital - Decatur is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Rehab team in Decatur, IL. This full-time outpatient position offers a day shift with flexible scheduling options and compensation aligned with experience.

The PTA will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, document care, and collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to promote safe mobility and functional independence for patients with general orthopedic needs.

HSHS St. Mary's Hospital - Decatur is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementing treatment plans

• Communicating patient responses to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Serving as educator and advocate for patients and their families, promoting safe mobility, functional independence, and overall wellness.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Supporting therapy program goals
• Participating in ongoing professional development to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care

Position Specifics:

• Department: Rehab, Outpatient
• Core Function: Rehab/Therapy/Sleep
• Full-time, Day Shift (40 hours/week). Flexible scheduling options include 4 10-hour shifts, 4 9-hour shifts, or 5 8-hour shifts, with hours scheduled between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, no weekend or holiday coverage requirements.

*This position primarily focuses on treating a general orthopedic population. We also welcome PTA's with an interest in specialty areas as well.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate (e.g., Associate) from an accredited program which meets the licensure requirements in the state of practice is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

• Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice is required.
• Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment is required.
• ILLINOIS: Following physical therapy philosophies and standards of care set by Illinois Physical Therapy Act and other applicable governing agencies, licensure is required within 1 year for individuals meeting all other applicable requirements.
