Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Montana is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team. You will perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop personalized care plans, and implement rehabilitation programs to restore function and relieve pain.

You will use standard PT techniques and supervise assistants and students while coordinating with the care team. The role requires a Bachelor's in physical therapy and a state license, plus BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and be licensed to practice in the state.
• Ability to assess, plan, and implement patient-focused rehabilitation programs.
• Proficiency in therapeutic modalities and age-appropriate interventions.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes an individualized plan of care with patient involvement.
• Plans and executes programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function.
• Delivers PT interventions using standard techniques.
• Directs and supervises PT assistants and students; delegates tasks as appropriate.
• Administers treatments and uses physical agents and equipment.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic/orthotic devices as needed.
• Documents goals, progress, and plans for reevaluation.

Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

How you'll contribute

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

What we're looking for

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

• Licenses: Physical Therapist License in state

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
